- To encourage the school dropouts especially in villages because of the longer distance
Who is Eligible for the Free Bus Pass Scheme in Tamil Nadu?
The eligibility criteria for availing of the free bus pass in Tamil Nadu are as follows:
- Students who are studying from 1st to 12th standard in schools that are recognized by the government and also students who are studying in the Government ITI, Government Polytechnics, Government colleges are all eligible under this free bus pass scheme announced by the government of Tamil Nadu
- The applicant for this free bus pass should be from the state of Tamil Nadu
- Students can only travel from home to school/college and back
- Students are allowed to travel on this free bus pass on all days of the month
- Students are permitted to use the free bus pass in the local government buses
What are the documents that are required to apply for an Online Free Bus Pass?

- Residential address proof of student/parent
- Passport size of the student
- School Identity Card of the student attested by the Headmaster
What is the Validity of this Free Bus Pass?
- The free bus pass for students is valid till the end of the academic year. It will be re-issued every year based on request.

Bus Pass Over 60 New Rules 2021
The State Government has permitted to issue free bus pass to senior citizens who are above the age of 60. Now that the MTC bus services have 100% resumed as the infection rate has significantly reduced, the said free pass scheme for senior citizen was also resumed. Eligible people can download the bus pass application from the MTC’s official website and submit the filled forms along with the required documents at the nearby bus terminuses or MTC bus depots.
The issued pass will be valid for six months and includes ten tokens per month. And the beneficiaries can use the free bus pass to travel in all categories of MTC buses within Chennai (except AC buses).
Issuing free bus passes to students & senior citizens by the Government is considered to be a great initiative which will be entirely helpful for them! It will help them financially which will be one of the major concerns for students or senior citizens when it comes to traveling. Now that free bus passes are available, they are free to travel inside the city!

Do you have this question in your mind? Well, in this article we will give you in detail about the UK quarantine updates. The United Kingdom was one of the countries that faced the highest number of deaths due to COVID-19 and resulted in multiple lockdowns.
In Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and England, most COVID restrictions were lifted during the summer. However, regarding international travel, the restrictions remained the same throughout the UK and some nations maintained domestic measures. Northern Ireland, Wales, England, and Scotland categorize countries into ‘’red’’ or ‘’green’’. Also, the travel rules may depend on your vaccination status.
On November 25, the UK government has reactivated the then dormant red list due to the rise of the Omicron Coronavirus variant. Botswana, Angola, Lesotho, Eswatini, Malawi, Namibia, South Africa, Mozambique, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, and Zambia were on the UK’s red list. However, on December 15, all of these countries were removed from the list.

Who Can Go To The UK?
Until recently, fully vaccinated travelers from green list countries can enter Scotland, England, Northern Ireland, and Wales with no pre-departure negative test. But ever since December 7, travelers to the UK over the age of 12 irrespective of country origin or vaccination status must show a pre-departure negative COVID test which should be taken 2 days before travel. It can be a lateral flow test or PCR.
Can fully vaccinate travel to the UK? PCR test should also be done by fully vaccinated travelers on or before day 2 of their arrival and they should self-isolate until they get a negative result. The rule followed by fully vaccinated travelers can also be followed by children who are under the age of 18.
Travelers who are not vaccinated can also visit the UK but are subject to certain quarantine requirements and additional testing. At present, Don’t have any countries on the red list of the UK The countries that were listed in the red list were removed on December 15. There are separate entrance regulations followed by the Republic of Ireland which are enforced while crossing the land border.
What Are The Restrictions?
Before arriving in the UK, all arrivals must fill the Passenger Locator Form. Currently, those entering the UK should self-quarantine until the results of the PCR test are taken on the 2nd day after arriving in the country. If anyone gets a positive result, a 10-day quarantine will be imposed.
Previously, British, UK residents, and Irish nationals who are arriving home from destinations that are red-listed had to be quarantined for 10 days at their own expense. And non UK residents arriving from the red-listed countries were banned to enter the UK.
Before entering the UK, they should purchase the ‘’quarantine package’’ that covers the stay, food, and drink in the hotel during the quarantine period.
It is also encouraged by the UK government to make use of the NHS COVID-19 app in Wales and England and its equivalents in Northern Ireland and Scotland. This is done for checking the venues to trace the contacts.

London Travel Restrictions
There are restrictions to enter England for travelers arriving from outside the UK. International visitors are currently prohibited from entering England. `With response to the Omicron variant, London has moved to plan B. In most indoor settings, it is mandatory to wear a face mask.
